Lab Exercise                                                                                                                                                                                 September 27, 2019

My idea for a five minute activity is to do a group team building exercise. For this exercise I will ask everyone to go into a tight circle, possible two separate ones if the class is too big. Then everyone has to hold someone's. It can be across from them or diagonally from them, but it cannot be the person next to them. Once everyone is holding hands. The group has to try and unravel themselves without letting go of their hands. If done correctly, it should untangle into one big circle. This exercise builds leadership. It also helps teach the ability to know when to  step back and fallow and when to lead. It builds teamwork because everyone has to work together to get the knot untangled. It also builds interpersonal skills because communication is key to being able to work together to untangle their group. This exercise also allows the students to become more spatially aware and tests body movement. This is because they have to move their arms and bodies in order to get untangled. They may have to twist or go through some arm made hoops in order to untangle themselves; which also tests body movement and helps them become more spatially aware.
